When Godiva met Biba
Last night us Godiva Girls went to a screening of the Independent film called Beyond Biba which can only be described as spending an hour in the company of of Barbara Hulanicki, the founder of one of the most iconic shops ever and one of my personal boutique icons. The film was more about here life after Biba that was cruelly ended in the 70's. Barbara now follows a passion for interior design, after the interior triumph that put Biba on the map, and works full time in Miami. It shows what ever you put your hand to you can do with great style and flare. The highlight of the night was that Barbara was actually there for a Q & A session afterwards and we had the pleasure of actually meeting and her and I spoke to her personally about running an independent store!! This has to be one of the highlights of of my life and I am still smiling. She was such a down to earth and beautiful lady and I was so pleased to get the chance to met her and to introduce her to Godiva. After I got a signature on one of the Godiva flyers I gave her one and she did insist she would be looking up the website soon. So I will keep you posted!

Nostalgic nod to Melanie Griffith Working Girl
These now tea dresses were Maxi's but the clever sewers in the studio have been chopping, hemming and customising to create some top quality and edgy recycled vintage designs. Additionally this year I have brought in the late 80's early 90's pencil skirt! used to despise these hip hugger skirts but this year I am in love and they are flying out the door. Teamed with ankle boots and an 80's tee it's works and somewhat of a nostalgic nod to the look of Melanie Griffith in Working girl.

Lady Jukes- jack sparrow meets damien hirst?
Every few days like a child at Christmas I get excited when the postman, like Santa, delivers parcels full of design treats. Today was no exception when I opened up the latest instalment. Continuing on from the forever popular and brilliant Jukes & Proops label, I would like to introduce Lady Jukes, one half of the successful duo, who has branched off into her own tee designing. These are no ordinary tees. Skull pirates I've called them, a kind of Jack Sparrow meets Damien Hirst. With leather fringing, pearl, button and dimonte embellishments each tee has it's own unique character.
A triumph for the new Lady Jukes I think. The would look great with pair of forever faithful skinny jeans or the still in fashion leggings from the summer.

CUT IT- KNITWEAR A/W
Last year a lovely lady called Teressa Dowd came to me with a collection of jumpers that she had cleverly and creatively reworked from different wools, cashmere, silk prints. Her unique work sold out and I am very please to announced the returned of her now established label - CUT IT.
Here are a few preview photos of the new additions to the showroom. The one I am wearing in the photo I feel in love with instantly and just bought!
