With a little bit of lace.....Upcycled Vintage dresses
With a little bit of tweaking and a little bit of lace, the people of Pop Boutique have created their own range of the recycled vintage dresses. This form of upcycling vintage is nothing new to us here at Godiva, it has been helped us grow over the years and this type of reworking is part of our core beliefs here, so it's great to see a label do it well!
Each dress is a one-off creation, breathing new life into some lovely prints and fabric of bygone years. The lace collars add a very vintage and feminine touch. The waists are elastic making them an easy fit and allows for the addition of your favourite skinny belt accessory.
We have a great varied range in store right now and plan to put them online also. At £32.50 these reworked dresses are a must for any fashionista this season.

Sabine Mitsch Milliner creative fasinators
Sabine Mitsch Millinery started making hats
on a whim, after originally training as an illustrator and graphic
designer. A course in Costume Design at Central St Martin's, London,
sparked the passion and love for making and designing hats and
fascinators.
Sabine hats are mostly made from natural materials such as silk and wool-felt, also incorporating up-cycled materials as well as vintage lace and
ornaments. All hats are made the traditional way using wooden hat blocks
and are fully lined. Embellishments of feathers, silk pleats,
buttons, beads, vintage lace and vintage jewellery are skill fully applied to create these stunning one-off of creation.
Inspired
by art, design, nature and tales Sabine Mitsch Millinery brings to each
head-piece lightness, creativity and confidence of shape and colour.
Sabine's hats make the perfect companion not only to a wedding outfit but as a day wear hair accessory.
One of the most surprising things about these beautiful head pieces is the price! Most of these featured are £50-£65.
All stocked in store now.

Recent Vintage Jewellery finds! Owl, Parrots, Squirrels & Clocks .... oh my

This wonderful assortment of vintage jewellery is a recent successful haul of which is all out today in the shop for sale! Though some of it I really don't want to part with, especially the super swot owl with retractable glasses. He's a solid little fella too!
Another amusing piece is the somewhat giant squirrel necklace who has quite a startled look on his face like he's been caught stealing someone else's nuts.
The parrots are beautiful in colour and painted enamel. The giant 'alice in wonderland' pocket watch is a replica but beautiful all the same and an excellent price.
My final favourite piece of which I have another is the double clock pendant. I went on a recent trip overseas and found it most helpful, as I set one of the clocks to UK time and the other to my destination! It came in very handy and exudes super fashion uniqueness at the same time. I love it and still wear it today.
All these items are priced between £8-£20. If you would like a piece kept aside please just email me or call the shop.
Have good week,
Fleur

We started the year clearing out and giving the shop its first repaint since we moved into the shop 5 years ago! We must throw a Birthday party this year. We have done some great markets, we hope to be doing again this year, the Grassmarket one of the sunniest day of the year, where designer Rowanjoy and I enjoy some wine spritzers while getting pink in the sun and making some money with our wares at the same time.
Through the year we welcomed Krystle to the team, had some floods, watched close friend babies grow to fashion conscious little people, found some excellent new designers, one exceptional best seller, Appletree, that have produced the best selling swallow scarf. Expect much more from them in the year ahead.
Fi launched her own label Eleanor's Riot, that sold out within a month in the store!
We have so many great ideas this year and don't forget about our Made to Measure service, which is still very unique to the city! and give you the chance to create your own dress and is then created by designer Rowanjoy.
Rowanjoy has also started a beautiful bridal range in 2011 so brides to be, pop in and check out her latest collection or have the dress your dreams created.
Keep supporting independent designers and vintage at Godiva. See you this year!
