The Return of Johari
i
I met the founders of Johari last year and was immediately impressed with their work towards creating an ethical and fashionable clothing label. Every item they produce has been individually hand made by the people of Kenya that their community projects are run. These projects empower vulnerable young adults and helps them build a living for themselves and their families. 100% of the profit goes back into helping the Johari foundation work within the community.
After the success they had last year in Godiva I am pleased to have some classic and new collections in the showroom.
Her are some photos of the first installment.....
The Miale (‘sunrays’) necklace is made of brass sourced within Kenya, every piece carefully handmade resulting in an elegant intricate piece that looks stunning with any day or evening outfit, as with The Shaba (‘brass’) necklace which is the simple yet beautiful brass circles piece.
The Busara (‘wisdom’) necklace combines handmade oval brass pieces with intricate paper beads sourced from the fair trade Mzuribeads in Uganda.
Johari have definitely got the balance right between good quality hand made fairtrade and fashion.
Stock is limited so get them while you can! xx
