An ode to Originality - Red Brick digital print scarves

Scarves have been a great seller recently and here at Godiva we have been on the look out for a top quality digital print range and along came Karen Mabon, the creative illustrator behind British based label Red Brick.
Karen graduated from the Royal College of Art and after a couple of years of working in the fashion industry decided to put all her experience into setting up on her own and formed Red Brick, a label that aims to produce individual yet affordable accessories which capture the eccentricity of everyday life.

We just love the eclectic, off beat and truely unique collection of designs all beautifully hand-drawn by Karen.
When asked what inspires her in her designs she Karen told us,
"I collect a lot of antiques and weird objects and love car boot sales. A lot of strange things I've collected pop up in my prints, and when I'm designing I'll spend a lot of time looking at pictures in books. I've tried to develop my own visual language by drawing inspiration from a wide range of things.. modern British art, folk paintings, old educational posters, films, or just a funny incident I've seen on the street.
I love the whole legacy of scarf design, and the Liberty and Hermes archives are amazing, but I try not to look at other textile designs or fashion when I'm working on new ideas in order to come up with something completely original."

I think this really says it all and is reflected in each design in these scarves.

We are very excited to be the Scottish stockist for Red Brick. The scarves are made from 100% Silk and not only feel beautiful but are a real ode to originality.
